Hating Each Other- Let's Put an End to it NOW

Last night on Twitter, #ObamaSucks and #RomneySucks were both trending topics....this is not okay.
I don't ever get involved with election drama. I have my own personal beliefs, and I keep quiet about them. Some people are outspoken, and that's okay....As long as there's no hate that comes out of it.
Here's a list of things said on the Twitterverse last night during the election. It was so sad to see so much hatred between the two parties, and so many people bashing each candidate. Let's put an end to this...let's be One Nation, Under God, and support each other.

  2. Yes, what Andye said. You said that perfectly. I checked in on twitter at about 11:30 last night and got off pretty quickly after seeing such horrible tweets from both sides. Like you said, it doesn't matter who you support, there is no reason to be mean to others about their opinions.

  4. Well put, Lindsay! I couldn't agree more with how sad it was that people would stoop so low as to insult and be flat-out rude to others for not voting/believing the same as they do.

Just because one doesn't agree with the politics of others and what they believe to be true and just does not give any one the right to bash someone else and their thoughts. What you found on twitter just makes me sad and generally disappointed in the world.

Sorry for the long(ish) comment. =)

People are always saying that their agaisnt bullying but last night...so many people were being cruel because someone didn't agree with their opinions. I don't understand it. Great video Lindsay!!! Couldn't have said it better myself.

  6. I agree. Nothing is ever accomplished by bad mouthing any individual. We all have our own take on it, why can't we deal with this with dignity and maturity?

  7. Nicely said. Twitter was the center of hated when it came to politics last night. But another thing that should have been addressed is that even if your party won, you shouldn't be gloating about it all over the place. Yes, you're happy your party won, but don't go rubbing it in other people's faces, thinking that you're better than those who voted otherwise. I enjoyed the video you did, with well solid points. Hopefully we can now move forward.

  8. I was completely disgusted with twitter through all of this and had to turn it off. From the outright rudeness and disdain for people of differing opinions to the crap sportsmanship showed by both winners and losers. I am so glad that this election is over. It brought out the worst in a lot of people and I may have quite a bit of unfollowing to do, not based on people's political or religious views, but based on people's complete disrespect for others.

  9. Politics will always be like that, no matter where you live. When people chose one of the candidates, they start critcising the other, because they just think the best way to go on it's with their fav party.
But, I don't ser the point, if you hate someone, just keep it to yourself and period. We all deserve to have an opinion, but not a backbiting tongue.

  10. I agree. I am tired of all the hate bouncing around out there. It's okay to have different views. Why can't we just accept that we all think differently and get along?

  11. Nicely said. I understand supporting a candidate and I understand not liking the opposing candidate's beliefs, but it's one thing to have valid, rational arguments against the opponent. It's another to just rant on about you hate the opponent. Why not say instead why you believe in your candidate?

A "friend" on Facebook said "Voting for X candidate is like being slipped rufies and being date-raped." My jaw dropped. I happened to vote for X, but even if I hadn't, that's not appropriate. I never heard anything about why she supported her candidate; just why X was the devil.
